Hi All
Art you were correct. I retraced my steps here at work and the part number 3507736 is used for BOTH aftermarket and OEM regina pumps. I had heard the shop owner and PO say new "real Volvo" so I assumed...
Next, my previous uncertainty regarding the fuel test guage has largely been
assuaged. I will attach pix of the guage and readings while running. The fluctuation is between 32-36. Most of the time more like 34psi. Pressure tends to build as I increase RPM to around 36-37psi. I watched/played with for an hour so. BUT I had also picked up a spare newer looking Coil at the junkyard for 40$ so I was determined to getr that in this weekend. I did and the difference was immediate. The slight miss/skip I was hearing, gone. The difficult start, gone. I will wait a week or so for the cold to return before I declare it fixed but it seems promising. If anyone is interested in the old coil for a necropsy let me know and I will ship it to ya, free. Question, as I can still hear large volumes of fuel "returning" to tank(ear to orifice) and I would prefer to see the pressure a tad higher, can I get an adjustable FPR that will shunt a larger proportion of the fuel to the rail as opposed to back to the tank? I did put on a new Bosch FPR from my other Volvo..no difference.
Here's a picture of the lowest I ever saw the pressure go:
and the normal:
