I have a Four Seasons blower motor that I will be using to replace a noisey, failing one. I am not clear on some things that may or may not need be done to have the new style motor fit.

First, a strip of foam weather stripping type material is included. The directions say to "Install foam rubber seal around drain pipe (B)"
How does that face, exactly? On the one I have (A) and (B) are one piece.


Second, does the old wiring need to be modified with new connectors (not included) to work with the new harness? This pic is from the Volvo Manual:
