What’s involved in converting from manual to power operated windows?
I have a ’92 parts car coming my way that has power windows. My ’86 does not. I know, more weight and complexity, but the life partner will be more likely to want to drive it in lieu of the Mini Cooper this winter if it has such luxuries.
Would it be easier to swap the whole door rather than fumbling around shoulder deep in eight car doors? I’ve never hung a door. The door and ignition keys already don’t match. Also the ’92 doors have better rubber scrapers and the extra seal around the perimeter. I’ll already be swapping funky door handles. Would I have to run a pair of wires to each door all running through the driver’s door, plus a relay and to the fuse panel or is it prewired? I’m capable but is it way too much hassle to be bothered with?
I’ll have more hair-brained questions as I get deeper into this…
Thanks,
Will
