Sages:
I just had to replace one of my wagon's rear hatch hinges (don't ask). While doing so I decided to swap out the wiring harnesses for both sides, as there have been issues (no rear wiper for one). Board be praised for all the helpful tips on how to do so! Anyway, I had the hardest time feeding the wires inside the body of the gate. Rushed, I hid them behind the awful plastic cover-up on the inside of the hatch glass.
My question is, if I notch that plastic and make room for the wires (at their entry points-- there's plenty of room behind that plastic) is there any reason other than aesthetics that I'd need to run them through the body of the gate? I know this is an offense to purists, but please do weigh in.
Thanks in advance,
