Is yours Bosch or Regina? It might make a difference, although I doubt it.

I have had knock sensor code issues with my 1993 945 Regina the whole time I've owned it. It is not a problem in winter, but is a royal PITA from April to October.

Just this evening I checked the wiring for continuity between the connector at the sensor and the connector at the ECU. Cleaned the big plug behind the strut tower, where the harness under the hood connects with the harness that runs inside the car. Code did not reset on the test drive, but tomorrow AM with completely cold car will be the real test.

things to check:
-is the sensor correctly torqued?
-is the connector on the sensor pointed to the 3 to 5 o'clock position (AWAY from the alternator)?
-have you thoroughly cleaned the contacts on the sensor and the connector?
-have you checked for intake leaks?
-is the pre-heat intake blocked shut, so the airbox only takes in cool air?

Having seen someone with an 850 cure this problem by replacing the fuel filter, I did that on mine a few weeks ago. No change whatsoever.
