1988 740 wagon. I previously posted about intermittant no starting but cranking over fine problem I have. It was suggested that problem might be radio suppression relay and that I could jumper the two thicker wires(the red one & the red/green one). Well this morning car would not start. I should have jumpered these 2 wires to be certain relay was problem but it was raining heavy. Instead I rapped hard on & jiggled relay. Car started right up. So I guess problem is probably relay. Catch is this is my only car and I need it daily. It will take a few days to recieve a new replacement relay. Is it okay/safe to jump the wires in meantime ? Can I somehow permanantly bypass this relay ? I never even use the radio so I don't care if it would no longer work. Thanks very much for help with this.
