fog from vents only when defrost selected?

I too have this issue, with the same kind of aromatic heater core leak, and just thought that it was part of the antifreeze mist. Check your reservoir cap, my aftermarket one failed and created overpressure, and after changing to a genuine Volvo one the symptoms lessened.
