Checking blower motor 140-160 1971

The 72 and earlier models are a little easier to access than the 73 and later (and 240) models.
If you can get the motor out you may be able to refurb it. Usually the bearings are gummed up.
You can clean them with lacquer thinner and oil them with light machine oil (NOT WD40 or other penetrating oil),
make sure the brushes and commutator are in good shape and see how it blows and sucks.
Remember that nothing sucks like Electrolux!
If you do get it freed up and it is not burned out it can last you several years at least.
