240 Front Crank Seal Depth 200

Hi All,
I am installing a new timing-belt and seals on my 1987 245. I got a gray crank seal and it pushed all the way into the housing very easily. Should I pull it back out flush, or does it matter?
Thanks for any Help,
zootmancars
