Cleaning carpeting in the back of a wagon 700 1991

I have part of the cargo compartment flooring out of my 745 wagon at the moment. I also have a new toy for the house, a Hoover Steamvac. The Steamvac does a better job at cleaning carpets in the house than either Stanley Steamer or a Rug Doctor rental machine. So, I was wondering . . .

Can I use the Steamvac on the cargo compartment flooring? I am asking because the flooring panels back there are wood-backed. The Steamvac does not leave much water on the floor in the house, it is much better than professional or big rental machines. But, I wouldn't want to ruin the cargo compartment floor panels.

Opinions?

PS, I am in Florida, where it is pretty dry and fairly warm right now, so a quick pass, being careful not to overwet, plenty of "dry" passes to get out as much water as possible, then laying the flooring panels out in the sun might work, don't you think?
