I know how you feel. I went to tighten the clamp on my 1990 760 at the resivior. When I did, the nipple broke off in my hand, and coolant went everywhere.

Even luckier than that was the day I changed the oil in our old suburban. I looked up and my wife was headed down the driveway in it, no oil, no plug, no filter. She went about 3/4 of a mile before I could catch her on the cell phone.
It now has 198,000 miles. Best I can tell it didn't hurt.

I'll take luck everyday.
