Now that I think about it a little more, you are right, as each circuit has the same number and size of caliper pistons. I can't recall ever having taken a 140 or 240 M/C apart, but others I've done, with a simple front/rear split have been stepped. Even so, my main point about failure of the seal between the two circuits remains valid.
