Thanks, Uncle O. Indeed, the tranny mount was swapped out a couple years ago, when I asked a local shop ("Shadetree Auto," I love it) to pre-empt things which might cause the car to fail inspection. Interesting to me that both engine and tranny sit/hang from only three points--geometrically, very elegant, but now I see that motors are getting bolted down in four or six places (like the upcoming Mazda Six) I wonder if the three-point design is just doomed to earlier-than-necessary failure.
