The problem:
Will not start (on its own) when cold.
What I have checked/done:
If I unplug the connector at the Fuel Distributor (FD) the fuel pump does run.
If I jumper 12 V to the cold start injector, it does spray.
Checked line pressure:
Installed a pressure gauge between the FD and the Control Pressure Regulator (CPR), turned on the
ignition and removed the connector at the FD. Pump ran, gauge read 78 PSI. According to Haynes it
should be 64-74. Is this a problem?
Plugged the connector back in and watched the gauge. Immediatly dropped from
78 to 60 PSI. After 1 minute pressure dropped to 50 PSI, 2.5 minutes dropped to 40 PSI, 5 minutes it
dropped to 30. Haynes suggests that the "reset pressure" should have dropped to between 24-34PSI
after a few seconds! What does this mean? Blocked return line? Bad CPR?
What would be the best way to check for a blocked return line?
Thanks in advance for your help.
