Ah, that explains the sensors. Can I assume that the engines with this later style sensor setup are B20F motors?
From what little I've read about the different years, the 72 had a more efficient fuel delivery - not squirting fuel into the combustion chambers when the pistons were down - or something like that... I think I read that in a back issue of "Rolling"
If I installed an ECU from a 1972, could I benfit from that improvement or would it not work because the 72 used this later style trigger you describe?
Incidentally, there is/was something wrong with the ECU for my system. It has a separate IPD fuel mixture control which is external to the ECU. JohnMC can say a lot more about it - as he put it in. I think there was an issue specifically with the cold start. Personally, I never had any trouble and I drove the car for 8-10 months before I began to disassemble it.
