no spark condition 1800 1971

Hello again, The tach was the problem, I by-passed it and the engine fired right up. Unfortunately, the oil line to the pressure gauge came in contact with the exhaust manifold, burning through it and causing a small but destructive fire in that area as oil was sprayed on the exhaust. I will evaluate the damage today perhaps (when I can get the mess cleaned up after the fire extinguisher). Doesn't look too bad. Probably hurt my feelings more than anything else. Looks like some wiring may be affected. Anyhow, thanks to all for the advice. Mike
