I just got the AC of my '92 serviced last week and not it's not working. I'd call the mechanic but it's the weekend and I have a long hot trip tomorrow Any qadvice would be appreciated. Here's the deal
Brand new compressor, converted to R134. New waterpump, all new hoses and belts. When the mechanic installed everything he told me when they got the AC up and running he couldn't turn it off. He said it was a problem with the solinoid. They fixed it and I drove it w/ AC running cold a couple of times.
Then yesterday it didn't work and I had to hit the highway with the windows open and no cool air to cool my fuming head as I grew more and more PO'ed at how much money I'd dumped into the car only to have my kids sweating in the back seat.
I've check the electrical connections under the hood and the fuses and they're fine. The switch in the dash is fine. When I flip the switch I don't feel any power kick like usual and I wonder if there's a problem w/ the clutch? The accumulator doesn't get cold at all; in fact it's quite hot. Any ideas? Thanks.
