ECC problem 900 1997

Hello,
I'm having a problem with the ECC in my '97 V90 (think 960). The original symptom was that I wasn't getting any air blowing out of the dash vents, although I can hear the blower, and only a little out of the floor or defroster vents. I started checking the vacuum lines etc, and then noticed that it doesn't seem like the Function switch is doing anything at all. I can't feel, or hear, any difference or activity as I select from dash, to windshield, to floor etc. I tried running the diagnostic and retrieving the codes, but I am unable to get it to work. My 1st question is that in the directions for running the ECC diagnostic it says to set the function switch to VENT. Mine have a setting called VENT, only AUTO and the selection between the different vent locations. I tried all positions even though I suspected that AUTO was the correct setting for this test. None of the positions yeilded any codes on the AC light. When I turn on the car the AC light lights for about 2 seconds before shutting off. No flashing. I realize that if the function switch, or the ECC itself is shot that I wouldn't be able to retrieve the codes. Right?

Anyone have any ideas of what I can try, or what the problem might be? I have double posted this message and ask that if you can help me please respond to my message on the S90-V90 forum

Thanks,
Steve
