I posted a few days ago but got no responses, hopefully 2nd times a charm.
My brakes falied inspection, I've been unable to fix an irregularity in the braking. I have a 91 940 with girling front calipers.
The problem: Once per rotation the brakes drag for an instant, this causes the steering wheel to jerk, I don't feel the pulse in the brake pedal, just the steering wheel. It jerks the card back and forth, not side to side. It doesn't for the first minute or so of driving, so it seems that the brakes need to warm up.
What I have done: I took off the calipers and inspeced the rotors for irregularities, they look and feel fine. I jacked up the front end and spun the wheels while my friend pumped the brakes, the brakes compressed and released as expected. I took of the calipers, relubed the pins and sliding surfaces. Unfortunately this did not solve the problem.
I read on another post that this may be related to oil/grease getting on the rotors and pads. Has anyone experienced the greasy rotor problem before? Is there some other problem I should be checking for?
Thanks alot.
Thanks,
Mike
