I have now removed and replaced the ect sensor twice. I know the first time I screwed up and used a sealant on the threads. I am sure I cleaned that thing completely before I re-installed it. I can now remove and replace the intake on that engine in about 20 minutes flat. I am just wondering if there is something about this that I am missing. I mean, I AM missing something because it is still throwing the codes 123 and 224. First it was just the 224 on 6 but after changing the thing the first time I got the 123. I have disconnected the battery and even swapped the ecu just to make sure. I get the same with both ecu's. Two things that seem odd. I went ahead and checked the two (seemingly) identical relays on the opposite sides (radio suppression relays, both?).When I opened one and looked through a magnifying lens, I noticed broken solder around a ground point. I went ahead and re-soldered that and re-installed. Also, when I tried running the car with the tps un-plugged, there was no difference in the way the car ran. Looking at what I believe to be the correct wiring diagram, I do see that the tps is next in circuit to the coolant sensor. However, I did check for possible mashed lugs on all plugs and didnt notice any. Another thing I am wondering about is the grounding locations that may be possibly affecting this. I only see the large one on the block under the manifold and the two grounding points on the fuel rail (as far as in this vicinity)
