OD fluid 120-130

Hey everyone, on our recent trip the OD stopped working. So we replaced it with a spare OD. I have read in numerous articles that the fluid for the OD comes from filling the tranny. We filled the tranny until it couldn't take any more. That was about 1.25-1.5 quarts of fluid. Does that sound like the right amount of fluid for the M41 unit? I just want to make sure before I destroy the second OD. Thanks ahead of time!
