cold starting problems 140-160 1970

If starting fluid doesn't help it probably is not the carburetors (although I am
not fond of Strombergs as used on Volvos).
Could your ignition be marginal? Plugs dirty, wires in bad shaper, timing and
dwell off, points bad, etc.
If it was mine I would go over the ignition system and make sure it is in good
shape, no moisture or tracks inside the cap, rotor making good contact with the
center point in the cap, etc. Be sure the timing and dwell are right also.
