Battery Seapage cleanup 200

My battery has been seeping some leakage onto interior body/chassis near battery tray. I am going to replace battery tray and battery...any advice on cleaning up the caustic materials in order to minimize further corrosion? Baking soda? Soap and water? Thanks.

What battery recommendations do you have?
