Mr. Happ,

I've spent a lifetime misreading plugs so I may not know my a** from a hole in the ground trying to read yours. I think though that you need to pull back the timing on this engine. There are what look like little beads, some black and some bright metal. I think the black specs are probably oil traces. The bright specs may be aluminum. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that. Still, it appears that the combustion chambers are too hot to me. I would pull back on the timing and follow Rhys' advice on jetting.

On plug #1, can someone explain to me the feathery or vein like tracks at the base of the porcelain?
