testing a mc the wrong way 200 1993

I have been trying to diagnos a spongy brake pedal
but I think putting 2 plugs in the mc at the same time will not confirm a good mc I belive I need to put 1 plug in at a time and see if the peadl stays firm under both circumstances this way you are testing each half independently.
does this make sense? I am going to try it and report back
