How do I change Timing on a 1990 240 without a Hall Effect Sensor? (NOX too high)

Hello,
My 1990 240 with 185000 mi had high NOX(2537 with pass set at 1273) and high CO (1.31% with pass set at 0.94%). The HCs were good at 93 (pass set at 167).
I went to retart my timing and noticed that rotating the distributor had no effect on timing. Also noticed no wire for the Hall effect sensor. I looked for a black box on the fender and found none. Looked inside the passenger front kickpanel but just the fuel CPU was there. Where is the ignition module, please and can I adjust the timing from the ign module?

The car passed NOX 2 years ago and has been running top shelf as usual.

Thanks so much

Jerry
