Is it a disease? 1993

I acquired my latest (and fourth in my life) Volvo this past weekend when I purchased a 1993 965. After driving the Camry to work today, which the 965 will replace, I'm wondering if there is not something amiss with me on the inside. Teh Camry runs great but does burn some oil on start up (most likely the valve guides) but otherwise is in good shape and drives nice and straight down the road. The Volvo has more miles (230k vs 190k) than the Camry but I was just so attracted to the idea (and ideal) of owning an inline six that I could not get the darned B6304 out of my head after test driving a bunch.

Last spring I bought a garage queen 1991 745 with 100k miles on her. Very, very cherry car and the blue metallic paint looks great. But, that is now the "kid car" and I wanted something to drive to work everyday on the highway (my commute is 65 miles roundtrip). So, I settled on a plush 960 car.

After scouring Craigslist for months, I managed to pull up this car that someone wanted to unload, as it was an inheritance gift he had no use for. For $1000us I am now driving a high mileage, luxo-boat of a wagon! (well, not officially, it's yet to be registered). Most things on the car still function as they ought and the tires are in good shape and the TB was done 20k miles ago. Some trim pieces are broken or missing and the interior needs a good going-over but otherwise it's all there. Oh, heated seats don't work; I'll look that one up.

So, what have I got myself into? What will I need to carry for extra parts if I take it on some long trips? Am I afflicted with this terrible disease that others here have been living with for some time? How does it play out :?
