Automatic? 120-130 1967

There is a beautiful 122 coupe on eBay that is down in Marina del Ray, CA. I could drive down there and pick it up, high bid right now is less than $2500.

But....it's an automatic. My understanding is that it is a BW-35, 3speed slushbox. Probably doesn't drive very well on the highway. My though was to fly down there and drive the car back, around 400 miles. Any chance that this thing could actually do 80 on the highway without killing the motor? Doing the math in my head I'm coming up with almost 5000 rpm to maintain that speed.
