replacement of fuses DID NOT fix problem!!..HELP!!

I have a 1991 240 that i am ready to toss to the wind...that or find a new mechanic!! About a month ago i had this same problem..weirdly enogh it resolved itself. The 2 bottom fuses started to blow tonight..no inside dash lights, gear selector light or outside rear lights(at night)..changed the 2 fuses but they blew out real fast.few moments later. by the way, it was drizzling all day if any clue. Also, i noticed that when i put on my signal indicator the light bulb warning sensor which has been on on my dashboard forever anyway, started blinking to the same rythum as the directional. next thing i tried was as soon as i changed the fuses this time, as soon as i turned on the ignition, i heard and saw the fuse pop! Now, i am getting quite crazed from this whole problem. In the last month the battery, alternator and finally was found that the electrical part of the ignition was helping short out going to the alternator. It's soo hard to follow all this reasoning from the mechanic..But now again i could not believe the lights blew on the dashboard AGAIN. Please help with any electrical ideas you may have. this is a big mystery. thanks, lynn
