'trouble' lights. Recommendations?

I bought a couple of the (redundant) 12" undercounter flourescents at yard sales, and they are a good compromise: can you go wrong for a buck apiece? Yeah the cord is a nuisance, but at least if you drop the thing it just keeps going. The light is general and not blinding. One of these days when I am rich and famous, I will buy a fancy battery powered LED light...

Never again will I use another undercar exploding faceburner...
