It might be failing tie rod end(s). How to check:
Lift right front of car until wheel is off the ground. Turn steering wheel to almost right turn so you can easily see the tie rod end.
Grasp the wheel at 3 0'clock and 9 0'clock, and attempt to move it as if turning left then right while watching the tie rod end. If there is "slop" in there, replace it and the other side, too. It is my experience that the right side goes bad first.
After any work on front suspension components it is necessary to have a front end alignment. There is economy in doing more than one front end job so as to need just one alignment. You might therefore consider doing the ball joints at this time, too.
A small imbalance in a front wheel may not show until a tie rod allows it. Thus my idea that the tie rod end(s) are your problem.
Good Luck,
Bob
