Getting a 240 and need some opinions.

What sort of records does it have to tell you what has been done?

Think: timing belt and seals; brakes; suspension; scheduled oil and filter changes; alternator brushes; exhaust system; belts and hoses;

Check: headlight lense sealant; body and floor pan rust; tires and alignment (uneven tire wear); seat foam; blower motor sounds; overdrive function; rear transmission bushing wear; motor and transmission mounts;

Personally it would have to be very nice with evidence of great care and money spent on it to cause me to be good with a $2900 price. Of course it depends on what part of the world you live in as to what price they can command.

Find out what is in need of updating and how much that will cost. Deduct that from the price and that is maybe what you should be willing to pay... which means you offer less and finally agree on a price that lets you do all the updates for the current asking price. Good luck. Don't be afraid to pay for a GOOD indy mechanic to go over the car and evaluate it for you; it will be money well spent if you end up buying it or not.
