I'm slowly working through the 97 engine into a 92 964 transplant. The engine has been cranking and finally started once. I ran it for about 30 sec and then I turned it off so I could button things up. It hasn't started since. I'm going through the usual checking of plugs for cleanliness and tightness. All appear well. At this point I want to start checking for continuity and resistances at the computer itself.
Looking at the plug on the computer it seems that it is not very friendly toward probing. Taking the plug off, I don't see any numbers on the terminals and the color codes are impossible to trace.
Am I missing the numbers and just need more light and younger eyes? Is there a diagram somewhere that shows terminal numbers for the pins in the plug?
BTW: The plug seems to have a lot of grease in it, presumably to protect the terminals. Is this factory or has someone been in there adding it later.
Also BTW: I asked earlier if the 97 flywheel would work correctly. Since it started and ran, I assume it does.
Thanks!
