quick tip to mount water pump 140-160

I used the gasket supplied with the pump.
George suggested tightening up the left upper bolt with the left side of the pump to max elevation, then using a screwdriver, pry against the timing cover, to pry the right side of the pump up tight against the bottom of the head. Then tighten upper right side bolt. Worked well for me. My problem was getting the lower radiator tube inserted and bolted in, it took two sets of hands to accomplish.
I agree with cleaning the gasket surface throroughly.
