After putting in several hundred hours on my son’s ’67 and then his ’69, I am finally an Amazon owner in my own right. My son has agreed to sell me his ’67 (Betty) after we moved all the best parts over to his ’69 (Veronica). (For those of you familiar with Archie comics, the naming metaphor should be obvious.)

I figure I’ve got a 2 year project on my hands, but inspired by Shannon’s story of resurrecting Frieda Nell, I’ve started that journey. This is a bit of a retrospective for me, since I had a new ’66 Amazon, black with the red interior, a real beauty, which I drove for 7 years before family size pushed me into a Buick (Yuck!).

I anticipate continuing to tap the vast reservoir of knowledge available on this board as I go.
