240 Part identification (please help) 200

Hello,
In my 91 240 there is a aluminum small box that sits
attached to the inside fender area (driver side of car)
behind the battery.

In my 93 240 this same box sits on the passenger side
attached to the inside fender.

It is aluminum and measures about 1" x 1" x 2" and has
a bracked attached to it to attach to wall inside fender.

It has a number on it # R601.211.
It looks like some type of relay.

Please help.
