Stuck Service Engine Light 200 1991

Service Engine light reset had already been done a week ago when my daughter "assumed" I had already changed the oil.
So last night I did change the oil and reset the button again, and now it lights for the first few miles, as if it has gone thousands of miles.
So when my daughter saw this she tried to reset it again.
It is still lit at startup.
Can a partial reset trigger this system to display the light?
Help. I know it is a minor thing, but within 24 hours the car goes back to college, and it would be nice to have this straightened out.
