So, last Sunday I went win a friend to a neighboring town to get some stuff at Harbor Freight. Car behaved nicely as it always does. After I dropped him at his place I started the engine and it sounded rough. At first I thought it was spark plugs and changed them just in case. No change. Then I decided to use that airspace between my ears and checked if each cylinder was getting fuel by unplugging, listening for a rpm drop, and then plugging back the wire that powers each injector. When I reached the rear one, taking it off line would not do any good. So, I went to pick up my noid light and it told me the injector was getting power; I compared the signal with other injectors and it was the same frequency and intensity. So, it makes me think either the injector is not injecting or spark is not sparking. Now, I smelled the exhaust and I could not detect any fuel, which would make me think the spark plug is not firing. Next thing I did was to put new distributor rotor and cap (I had them sitting for a while, so I might as well do it).
Now that I come to think, I still need to properly check for sparks too... just to be complete.
