740 Wagon that's been sitting - what to worry about? 700

So, I'm in the market to replace my decrepit '86 240 wagon. There's a slightly eccentric older guy in my neighborhood who tends to collect stuff, and one of the things he's got sitting around is a '91 740 wagon. The body is in great shape except for a long scratch down to the primer on one door - not a hint of rust anywhere. He tells me that it developed a power-steering leak a couple of years ago, and he was unable to obtain a replacement hose with the proper thread on the fitting (odd, no?) so he had the whole rack replaced by a shade-tree mechanic that does work for him now and then. This created the need for an alignment, which he never got around to, so the car's been sitting for a couple of years. The owner's girlfriend got on his case about it a couple of months ago, so he drove it to a new parking spot, where I noticed it.

What might a non-turbo 740 wagon, at about 150K miles, solid body, leather seats torn in front, cracked in back, non-functional AC, tires mostly gone, be worth, assuming I don't find anything else wrong with it when I take it for a drive? What problems might 2 years of sitting bring on? The owner doesn't need it, except that he tends to hang onto stuff just because he likes having it around. He's eager to talk about selling it, but the price point he has in mind ($2500) seems a little silly to me.
