lets see if i can clarify.
90 740 gle 16 valve engine goes bad. was told i can swap in the 8 valve no problem.
aux shaft pully on 16 valve sheared off while driving and broke balance shaft belt or vice versa. either way timing is nmessed up. so not sure where the sensor was suposed to be to begin with. 16 valve has automatic tranny, and i'm going back with same tranny.
donor engine is out of a 85 740 gle. this car is a 4 spd man. on the crank pully some one wrote 91 740 gle. so this is not the original motor to the donor car. car was running till wire harness failure got it. co-worker sold it to me for 50$ at that point.
so i pull both engines. got everything swapped and noticed the holes in the ring line up with thew sensor on the back of the engine. but i don't know which hole to put on the top.
