Three reasons why I wouldn't DO it

1) The Bosch hot wire AMM has been in use since 1982/3 with no suggestions from Bosch or Volvo that any type of "cleaning" is required or potentionally beneficial in any way.

2) The AMM hot wire is exposed only to filtered air (with the exception of those exposed to KN's oil-treated filters—IMO, yet another snake oil with a big advertising budget).

3) After each run where 2,500rpm has been attained, the sensing wires are heated red-hot for one full minute, burning off any possible contamination.

I see this product as nothing more than new marketing gimmick (which may benefit non-Bosch AMMs), but is based on no proven need that I'm aware of.
