Your tip put me onto the solution - I'd recently had a windshield replaced, and the piece of vinyl trim at the top of the screen was loose and wind was catching it. Set up an ungodly racket that was hard to pinpoint. A strip of black electrical tape has provided a satisfactory short term solution until I can replace it!
