B-30 options

As George has said KG Trimning, the injection an carbed models seemed to always use the same cam on a 164.

When you re-assemble make SURE you have a B30 oil pump, I've seen a few now with B20 ones, and even with the right pump oil supply is less than brilliant, running them on modern synthetic oil seems to make the lack of pressure symptom at idle go away.

Compression ratio will vary according to the fuel you use, but more agressive cams can use higher ratios because the overlap is greater. Ask KG trimning what they advise when you buy a cam from them. Remember to also get the followers.

Their cams are 480 Dollars or so, see http://www.kgtrimning.com/

To release the power though you will need some head work, the valves are badly shrouded.

Pete
