It sounds like Ron put forth the info you need about getting it wired up correctly. The switch has three positions on it. One lets the reverse lights come on (when in 'R'), one lets the starter engage ('P' or 'N') and the last doesn't let the starter engage or have rev. lights on ('D' or 'L'). One set of wires running to the switch is brown and one is green. I *think* the green is the start and brown is rev. lights...
The switches themselves have not been available new for decades.... I have picked up a few over the years since I have an auto 122 that I try to keep running the best I can... If you are in need of one, drop me a note off list and I can dig about in my boxes of stuff and test a few to see if I have a good running one I am willing to part with...
Thanks
