Brake Explanation Needed Please.

What a relief. The pedal and stopping power are good, better than before the leaky reservoir seals. I was hoping that I had done the right thing, but just taking something apart and putting it back together isn't good enough for me if my life could be at stake. Thanks for explaining what actually happened, I would be lost(or riding a bike) if it wasn't for this board.
