Water pump/alternator alignment problem 1993 240

Not bonded but a press fit. If they are floating free in the Housing then this will cause the Alternator to shift as you tension the belts.

Look down the Waterpump pulley toward your Alternator pulley ( with the belts on) can you see that the Alternator is slightly cocked. another indication that the Bushings are finished.
