Hello Nate: I wonder if the thaw on Christmas day may have introduced water into the steering links, kingpins and brakes. This should not have suddenly appeared. I had seen this with my first PV and also slush building up in the front wheel wells. Up here in Canada, we got back to cold temperatures that would freeze these components. Try a heated garage to dry things out, then make sure there is adequate grease in the front end. Believe it or not, there are 25 grease fittings in the front of my '53 and I bet there are nearly 15 on your newer PV. All the best of the holidays.
