I've been keeping notes for several weeks on a very occasional difficult start on my 88 244. For the most part it starts immediately, hot or cold. But once in a while (no more than once or twice a week or so) it takes significantly longer to start, like 5-10 seconds. It's never failed to start, it just takes longer than usual. As far as I can tell, this has nothing to do with:
- engine hot, warm, or cold
- weather wet or dry
- weather warm (75 F) or cool (40 F)
- full tank or below half
- where it's parked (parking lot, under trees, or garage)
- time of day
I can't figure out whether this is a warning sign of something, or "just one of those things". Any ideas?
