Some helpfull hints when debugging a car with an ECC control unit.
The controller has two connectors. The large one is outbound signals that controls dampers, compressors and etc. The smaller one is inbound signals that read the inputs from the various temp sensors.
If the compressor doesn't work, try this. Unplug the smaller connector. The ECC will go into default mode and the compressor may start to work. If yes, the problem is a temp sensor, if not, then the problem could be the relay, clutch, low or hi pressure cut out switches and etc.
I found my problem after a month of research. The ambient air temp sensor was reading 20 below 0 and told the compressor not to engage. At room temp (75) these sensors should read around 8.1K.
