Front Wheel Bearings 900

Forget previous post. Checked archivies this morning and found info lacking in FAQ. Questions:

What size is spindle nut. Most posts list 36mm but my 940 nuts are smaller. One post says they are 34mm. Are different sized nuts used? Seems unVolvo like.

Can you remove/install nut with 1/2" drive or need 3/4"? Not sure I'm man enough to torque nut to 74 ft-lbs and then give it another 45 degrees. Can only envision busted 1/2" tools. Reminds me of Volvo diesel head bolt torque spec of 105 (?) ft-lbs and then a 180. Would like to see someone do that. Paid $700 for 84 240 diesel once but that's another story.

If torque spec above is correct, why is dust cap stamped with 'torque to 65 ft-lbs'?

My 93 940 has 124k. Anything to be gained by removing hubs cleaning and relubing bearings? Surprised at no grease inside of cap but have never seen sealed bearing stay sealed. Besides noise, Is there a hint of imminent bearing failure inside of cap: grease, metal dust, corrosion. Are seals removable and what grease would you relube with?

Anything gained by packing space around recessed nut with grease? Make it look like 240 bearing/spindle oozing grease.

Appereciate the help.
